ILYN FERNANDEZ LODAHL
Self-taught Native Filipina visual artist. Born in Isabel Leyte, raised in the small town of Cebu, a beautiful island in the Central Philippines. Migrated to the United States in 2010 got married and was blessed with three kids. It wasn’t until 2015 she accidentally discovered and realized her true passion and fell deeply in love with the process of creation and swiftly moved on to painting on canvas.
iART works draw inspiration from primarily Mother Earth, harmony, emotion, spirituality and her origin. She prefers expressions of immediacy, light, and daring colors whereas her painting process is a nature-inspired exploration of time and scene. She strives to manifest the subtle details where colors play a significant role in whatever iART makes. She aims to generate much more than superficially pleasing objects where she draws her colorful world of creation into which she welcomes you.
All of iART creative energy is focused on the moment when she’s produced her masterpiece and whatever is currently on the easel feels like a treasure to her, a piece of her soul. Each new painting is a fortuity to ‘out-do herself and brings out her unique best.
When not painting, iART can be found spending time with her lovely kids enjoying outdoor activities. She loves photography and is also huge fond of music, a variety of genres but mostly she is attracted to a piece that has a sublime bassline that can move her soul. These activities leave their mark on her when it comes to painting.
Painting is something iART has always gravitated towards and continues to work on throughout her life. Endeavors to inspire and foster her appreciation for nature and the art world. iART sees her paintings as a bolt of illumination. Her art could be described as dreamlike and sentimental yet modern. They speak of reminiscence and vitality of portrayals.
